Using Upsells in Kefi’s Slide Cart for Higher Conversions
Kefi’s Slide Cart is a powerful tool designed to help you increase revenue by showcasing upsells and exclusive offers right where customers are most likely to act—during checkout. With its flexible customization options, you can highlight relevant add-ons, complementary products, or time-sensitive deals that encourage higher-value purchases.
This guide walks you through the steps to set up and optimize upsell offers in your Slide Cart, so you can boost conversions and make the most of every transaction.
Access the Upsell Feature
Step 1: Access the Slide Cart in Your Kefi Dashboard
Go to your Kefi Dashboard, navigate to the Slide Cart section, and click "Select" to begin setting up your upsell offers.
Step 2: Enable Upsells in the Slide Cart
From the left-side menu, select Upsell, then make sure the Upsells toggle is set to Active. This ensures that your upsell offers will be displayed in the Slide Cart.
Step 3: Choose Your Upsell Strategy
Kefi allows you to select between AI-based and Manual Upsells to show the most relevant product suggestions in the Slide Cart.
1. AI Recommendations
AI-based upsells automatically recommend products based on the customer’s cart contents. This is a great option for hands-free, data-driven selling. Kefi offers two types of AI recommendation algorithms:
Related Products – Suggests items that are frequently bought together or that complement the products in the cart.
Complimentary – Recommends products that pair well with items in the cart, encouraging customers to add relevant add-ons or frequently paired products.

2. Manual Upsells
With Manual Upsells, you have full control over which products appear in the Slide Cart. This is useful when promoting seasonal items, best-sellers, or exclusive offers.
To set up Manual Upsells:
Go to the Manual Upsells section in the Upsell Product.
Click on Create Upsell, which will open a configuration dialog box.
Once you click Create Upsell, a configuration box will open where you can:
Choose the trigger product, selecting either:
All Products – to show the upsell for all products in the cart
Specific Products – to show the upsell only when certain products are in the cart
Select the upsell product(s) you want to promote
Set discount options, allowing you to offer percentage or fixed-amount discounts and without discount
Step 4: Configure General Upsell Settings
In the Upsell General Settings, you can fine-tune how your upsell offers behave and appear in the Slide Cart. The following options are available:
Show Upsell Offers for Products Already in the Cart
Enable this option if you want to display upsell suggestions for products the customer has already added to their cart.
Restrict the Number of Upsells in Cart
Use Restrict the number of upsells in cart to limit how many upsells are shown.
Upsell Layout and View Type
Choose how the upsell offers are displayed within the Slide Cart. This includes layout styles (carousel view or stacked blocs) and view types for Horizontal or vertical
Step 5: Customize Upsell Text Settings
Add engaging Upsell Titles to capture attention—examples include "Complete Your Order!" or "Special Add-On!".
You can also customize the Special Offer Message to highlight the value of the upsell and encourage customers to take action.
Step 6: Design Customization
Tailor the visual style of your upsell offers to match your store’s branding and improve customer engagement. The design customization options include:
Typography – Adjust the Upsell Text Size to ensure your titles and messages are easy to read and visually appealing.
Colors – Customize the Title, Background, and Button Colors to align with your brand’s color scheme and create a seamless shopping experience.
Border Radius – Set the Border Style to control the shape of your upsell containers
These settings help your upsell section look polished and consistent with the rest of your store design.
Step 7: Best Practices for High-Converting Upsells
To get the most out of your upsell strategy, follow these proven tips to boost engagement and conversions:
Keep It Simple
Limit the number of upsell items to 2–3 products to avoid overwhelming the customer and maintain focus.
Create Urgency
Use time-sensitive language like “Limited Time Offer” or “Only a Few Left!” to prompt faster decision-making.
Highlight Savings
Clearly showcase any discounts or special pricing to emphasize the value of the upsell and increase the likelihood of purchase.
Step 8: Preview and Save Your Changes
Before publishing your upsell setup, make sure everything looks and functions as intended:
Use the Cart Preview on the right side of the screen to see real-time updates as you customize your upsell offers and design.
Once you're satisfied with the setup, click Save to apply your upsell offers and cart deals to the live Slide Cart.
