The BXGY (Buy X, Get Y) bundle in Kefi allows you to reward customers for specific purchases by offering free or discounted products.

A crucial part of setting up this bundle is configuring the discount type—this determines how the reward is applied when the customer qualifies.

Whether you're offering a free gift, a fixed discount, or a percentage off the reward item, Kefi makes it easy to tailor your promotion to fit your marketing goals.

Discount Options Available in BXGY

When setting up a BXGY offer, you’ll be able to choose from the following discount types for the Y (discounted) product:

1. Free Product

Offer: Get the reward product at 100% off

Use case: “Buy 2, Get 1 Free” or “Buy Product A, Get Product B Free”

Why it works: The word “Free” is one of the strongest psychological triggers in marketing. Offering a product at no cost creates a sense of instant value and urgency.

It encourages customers to complete the required action (buying X) to claim the reward, making it perfect for high-converting promotions. It also boosts the perceived generosity of your brand—often leading to higher trust and loyalty.

2. Percentage Discount

Offer: Apply a percentage discount to the reward product.

Example: “Buy 3 pens, get the 4th at 50% off

Why it works: A percentage-based discount (like 25% off the reward item) gives customers the feeling of getting a deal while still preserving some revenue on the Y product.

This works especially well for higher-priced rewards, where giving the item for free may not be viable. It also gives merchants more flexibility to experiment with different discount levels to find the conversion sweet spot.

3. Fixed Amount Discount

Offer: Deduct a fixed amount from the price of the reward item.

Example: “Buy a phone, get $2 off on USB Cable”

Why it works: A flat discount ($2) is easy to understand and calculate. It’s particularly effective because it shows tangible value upfront, regardless of the product’s price.

This format appeals to deal-hunters and budget-conscious shoppers, making it great for add-on sales or pushing mid-tier products with clear savings attached.

4. Fixed Reward Price

Offer: Set a specific price for the reward item, regardless of its original price.

Example: “Buy any 3 flowers, get the 4th one for $4”

Why it works: Offering the reward product at a fixed, attractive price (like ₹99), customers feel they’re getting a premium deal at a steal.

It simplifies decision-making, removes ambiguity, and adds perceived exclusivity to the bundle. This method is excellent for controlling profit margins while still offering an irresistible promotion.

5. Add A Free Product with the Bundle -

Offer: Chocolate & Candle Combo — Free Gift Included

Offer Example: When a customer purchases 1 Box of Chocolate and 1 set of Candles (no price discount applied), they receive a Lavender item as a free gift. The bundle retains full product pricing but delivers added value through the complimentary item.

Why It Works: Even without a price discount, this offer feels rewarding. Including a free gift, the bundle taps into customers' desire for added value and surprise—making the purchase feel more generous and thoughtful.

It’s perfect for gifting occasions, self-care promotions, or premium product pairings, allowing you to drive conversions without sacrificing profit margins.
