How to Add a WhatsApp Chat Button to your store?

How to Set Up A WhatsApp Chat Button for your Store?

STEP 1

Head over to the Kefi-Whatsapp Marketing Dashboard and click on ‘Whatsapp Chat Button’ - Select.

STEP 2

Set up the Content -

In this step, you’ll set up the basic content and behavior of your WhatsApp Chat Button using the Content tab.

STEP 3

Here’s all You Can Configure:

  • Country & Phone Number: Select your country and enter the WhatsApp number where you want to receive customer messages.

  • Display Chat Icon On: Choose where the button will appear—everywhere, or only on desktop or mobile.

  • Chat Button Style: Select between: Button with text and icon (e.g., “Chat with us”) or, Icon only (for a minimal look)

  • Position: Decide if the button should appear on the left or right side of the screen.

  • Icon: Pick a chat icon from the default options or upload your own icon (max size: 1MB, .jpg/.png/.jpeg).

  • Default Message: This is the pre-filled message that users will see in the WhatsApp chat box when they click the button. Example: “Hi, I want to ask about a product.”

  • Welcome Message: This message appears in the chat interface to greet your customers. Example: “Hey, how can we help you?”

STEP 4

On the right side, you’ll see a live preview of how your button will look on desktop and mobile. Once everything looks good, click Next to proceed to the Design tab where you can customize colors and styling.

Move on to the Design Tab -

In this section, you can personalize the visual style of your WhatsApp chat button so it aligns perfectly with your store’s branding.

STEP 6

1. Colors - Customize the color scheme of your chat widget elements:

  • Icon Color – Set the color of the WhatsApp icon inside the button.

  • Button Background Color – Choose the color of the button background.

  • Button Text Color – Pick the text color shown on the chat button.

  • Welcome Message Color – Choose the text color for your welcome message.

  • Welcome Message Background Color – Set a background shade for the welcome message bubble.

These options help ensure the widget blends naturally with your store’s design.

STEP 6

2. Typography - Fine-tune how your text appears:

  • Icon Size – Choose the size of the WhatsApp icon (e.g., small, medium, large).

  • Button Text Size & Style – Adjust the font size and weight (e.g., 14px, Semi Bold) of the chat button label.

  • Welcome Message Size & Style – Customize the appearance of the welcome message text size and style for better readability and tone alignment.

STEP 7

Once you’ve finished customizing the Content and Design of your WhatsApp chat button, it's time to make it live on your store.

Click the Save button to store your settings. This allows you to come back and make changes later without publishing them immediately. Your Whatsapp button will remain in Draft mode until activated.

STEP 8

Click Activate when you're ready to launch the button on your store. Once activated:

  • The button will appear on your store and all product pages as per the display settings you selected.

  • Customers will be able to click and start a WhatsApp conversation directly from your store.

STEP 9

If you ever need to temporarily remove the WhatsApp chat button from your store, you can use the Deactivate button.

What Happens When You Deactivate:

  • The chat button will no longer appear on your store for visitors.

  • All your settings and customizations will be saved, so you can easily reactivate it later without setting it up from scratch.

  • Useful for seasonal campaigns, testing purposes, or when you want to pause support temporarily.
