Getting Started: The Initial Setup
Setting up your loyalty program is a straightforward process. In this guide, we will walk you through the essential steps to get your rewards program live and ready to attract customers.
The setup process is divided into three main pillars:
Configuring Ways to Earn: Defining how your customers accumulate points.
Configuring Ways to Redeem: Deciding what rewards your customers can "buy" with those points.
On-Site Launch: Activating the visual elements (Widget and Pages) so your customers can start interacting with the program.

Step 1: Install the App from the Shopify App Store
The first step to launching your rewards program is adding the Kefi: Loyalty Program Rewards app to your Shopify store.
Log in to your Shopify Admin dashboard.
Navigate to the Shopify App Store or search directly within the search bar at the top of your admin page.
Type "Kefi: Loyalty Program Rewards" into the search bar.
Select the app from the search results and click the Install button.
Review the app permissions and click Install App again to confirm.
Once installed, you will be redirected to the Kefi Dashboard, where we will begin configuring your points system.
Step 2: Enabling the Kefi Loyalty Core Snippet
Once you reach the Kefi Dashboard, you will notice an Action Required notification. This is a crucial step: your loyalty program widget and on-site elements will not be visible to your customers until the Kefi Loyalty Core Snippet is enabled in your Shopify theme editor.
Follow these steps to activate it:
Click Enable Core Snippet: Locate the yellow warning box at the top of your dashboard and click the Enable Core Snippet button. This will automatically open your Shopify Theme Editor in a new tab.
Toggle the App Embed: In the left-hand sidebar under the App embeds section, find Kefi: Loyalty Program. Click the toggle switch to turn it ON.
Save Your Changes: Once the toggle is active, click the Save button in the top right corner of the theme editor to apply the changes to your live store.
Understanding Your Dashboard
After enabling the snippet, you can return to the Kefi app to see your Quickstart Checklist. This section tracks your progress as you build your program:
Set up your points program: Includes defining ways to earn and redeem.
Activate points program: This is where you will officially "turn on" the rewards system for your customers.
Set up loyalty touchpoints: For configuring your widget and page layouts.
