Loyalty Program Emails: Customization and Automation
Effective communication is the heartbeat of a successful loyalty program. With our Emails feature, you can automate your customer engagement by sending timely, branded notifications that celebrate milestones and encourage repeat visits.
Overview of Automated Emails
Our system automatically triggers emails based on specific customer activities. You can toggle each of these on or off and customize their content to match your brand voice:
Points Earned: Sent immediately when a customer earns points through an order or signup.
Reward Redeemed: Sent when a customer successfully redeems their points for a reward.
Reward Expiry (Last Chance): A reminder sent 3 days before a reward is set to expire.
Celebrate Birthday: Sent when a customer is awarded their annual birthday bonus.
Design and Branding
Ensure your emails look professional and consistent with your online store. The Design & Branding section allows you to set a global theme for all loyalty communications.
Visuals
Banner/Logo: Upload a custom image (Recommended: 1200 x 480 px). You can choose to display it as a full-width Banner at the top or a centered Logo.
Typography: Fine-tune the font sizes for your Headings, Body text, and Footer to ensure readability across all devices.
Colors and Style
Base Colors: Customize the background, text, heading, and border colors of the email body.
Accent Colors: Set specific colors for your Call-to-Action (CTA) buttons, links, and footer text.
Buttons: Adjust the Button Style and Border Radius to create sharp or rounded buttons that match your website's buttons.
Footer
Customize the Disclaimer text at the bottom of your emails. Use variables like {email} and {store_name} to automatically pull in the customer's details and your store's name.
Sender Settings
Manage how your emails appear in a customer's inbox under Sender Settings.
From Name: Set the name customers see as the sender (e.g., "Kefi Rewards"). If left blank, it defaults to your Shopify store name.
Reply Email: Specify the address where you want to receive customer replies.
Require Explicit Opt-In: When enabled, emails will only be sent to customers who have opted-in to marketing. This is important for staying compliant with local privacy regulations (like GDPR) in certain regions.
Customizing Email Content
To change the specific messaging of an email, click Edit on any individual email type.
Dynamic Content & Variables
You can use Template Variables to make every email feel personal. These automatically pull data from the customer's account:
{points_amount}: The number of points the customer just earned or possesses.
{action_title}: The name of the specific activity completed (e.g., "Sign Up" or "Placed an Order").
Content Fields
Subject & Preheader: Optimize your open rates by writing compelling subject lines and preview text.
Heading & Content: Draft the main message of your email. Use variables to congratulate the customer on their specific achievement.
Primary Button: Change the Button Text and Redirect URL to guide customers back to your store or a specific rewards page.
Secondary Link: Add an extra link (e.g., "Explore all rewards") to give customers more options.
Test and Preview
As you make changes, use the Live Preview on the right side of the screen to see exactly how your email will look. Before going live, click Send test email to receive a sample in your own inbox.
