What Happens If I Uninstall the App?

What happens to my loyalty data if I uninstall the app?

If you choose to uninstall Kefi, your loyalty program data—including customer point balances, configured rules, and redemption history—is retained for a limited period.

Can I restore my settings if I change my mind?

Yes. If you reinstall the Kefi app within our data retention window, your program settings and customer balances can be restored. This ensures that if you are simply troubleshooting or accidentally removed the app, your customers won't lose their hard-earned progress.

What about the on-site widgets?

Upon uninstallation:

  • The Loyalty Widget: Will automatically disappear from your storefront.

  • The Loyalty Page: Any custom liquid blocks or extensions added via the Shopify Theme Editor will no longer function and may need to be manually removed from your navigation menu to keep your store looking clean.

Will customers still see their points?

No. Once the app is uninstalled, the interface for customers to view, earn, or redeem points is deactivated. However, as mentioned above, that data stays "on ice" for a short time should you decide to return.

Pro Tip: Before uninstalling, we recommend using the Sync Customers feature in the Customer Directory to ensure your latest Shopify data is aligned with your loyalty records.
